Texas Monthly Gulf Coast Show Home at Cinnamon Shore

Ground was broken on Friday, July 15, on what will be the first ever Texas Monthly Gulf Coast Home at Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas. The home will feature sustainable interior and exterior building products. It is a partnership between Texas Monthly, Cinnamon Shore, Legacy Builders, Davies Collaborative architectural firm and Brewer Design. ‘We predict it will reflect the best of Texas’ great coastal traditions,’ said David B. Dunham, publisher of Texas Monthly. Once completed, the home will be open for tours, with proceeds from ticket sales going to a Port Aransas nonprofit organization to be determined. Tours are expected to be conducted during the summer of 2017.

On hand for the groundbreaking were, from left, Dunham, David Lange, COO Legacy DCS; Tim Mahan, area manager for Legacy DCS; Darin Ryan of Legacy; Carrie Brewer, principal at Legacy DCS; Charles Duffley of Cinnamon Shore; Suzette Freeman, director of the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce- Tourist Bureau; Jodi Peters, sales executive at Cinnamon Shore; Port Aransas Mayor Charles Bujan; John D’Agostino of Davies Collaborative and Justyn Luera of Legacy.

Residential Design - Henners Residence

This 2,800 SF residence consists of three volumes clad in gray fiber cement siding and white stucco.  The gray volumes (a single-story garage and two-story gym and office) buffer the primary spaces (living area, kitchen and dining areas, bedrooms, etc.) from the main road.  The residence utilizes many green building materials and equipment such as stone wool insulation, a standing seam metal roof, hybrid heat pump water heaters and an HVAC system with VRF (variant refrigerant flow) technology.

Residential Design - Beach Houses

TumbesBeachHouse

Taking our work abroad it is as exciting as it can be!. This beach house was designed and built in Peru's north coast, a few kilometers away from Tumbes City, which is located near the equatorial line where warm waters of the sea flow along the shoreline.  A contemporary look with modern touches in handrails and louvers fit among the local architectural materials. A perfect vacation destination.
